Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest — How to Save

People search “how to save” because the game does not show a row of save slots. The only written steps I found are from GamerBlurb on 24 October 2026. I have not repeated them on a PC or a console in front of me. I am not going to pretend the PlayStation path is identical until someone does.

What that report says on PC

  1. There is no traditional manual slot. Saving happens when you return to the main menu, and when you use an outpost.
  2. Open the pause menu with P on a keyboard. On a controller the report says D-pad down.
  3. Choose General, then Main Menu, then Exit to Main Menu.
  4. Esc was not the pause key in the launch build they tested.
  5. An outpost is both fast travel and a save. Opening the map is not enough. Using fast travel is what they say writes the save.
  6. After you load, the cat may be at the outpost rather than in the grass. That is the reported behavior, not a wiped file.

Cloud saves

Steam lists Steam Cloud support; wait for the client to finish syncing before moving to another PC. Nintendo lists Save Data Cloud with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. We have not verified this game’s PlayStation or Xbox cloud-save behavior or requirements, so no subscription requirement is claimed for those platforms.

Trailmark wrote on 23 October 2026 that control problems were under investigation, and on 24 October that a keyboard-and-mouse update was coming. That lines up with a report that Esc does nothing and P opens pause. It is not a patch note with a version number. There was no numbered patch on 25 October 2026.

If the pause button on your platform is different, trust the screen in front of you. I will update this page when the steps are re-checked.

Questions on this page

Is there a manual save slot?

Not in the 24 October 2026 report. Saving is described as exiting to the menu and using outposts.

Does Esc pause the PC game?

That report says no. P opens pause. I have not re-tested it after the promised mouse update.
